Privacy Policy
ForkYeah (eatwhat7.com) — Last updated: March 2026
Introduction
ForkYeah ("we", "us", "our") takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights available to you under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Data We Collect
GPS / Location: When you search for nearby restaurants, your GPS coordinates are passed to Google Maps Platform to retrieve restaurant listings. Location data is never stored permanently on our servers.
Firebase Anonymous UID: On first launch the app automatically creates an anonymous Firebase account, used solely to store your personal favourites. You may optionally link a Google account for cross-device sync.
Favourites List: Restaurants you explicitly save, stored in Google Firebase Firestore under your UID.
Swipe History: Temporarily cached in Firestore to avoid showing you the same restaurant twice in quick succession; automatically cleared every hour.
Google Maps API & Location Data
This app uses Google Maps Platform to obtain nearby restaurant listings (Google Places API — names, addresses, ratings, opening hours) and to generate navigation links (Google Maps URI) when you tap "Go Now".
By using this service you also accept Google's Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service (maps.google.com/help/terms_maps) and Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). Google may independently collect and process usage data under its own policy.
Cookies & Third-Party Advertising
Google AdSense: This website displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show personalised ads based on your browsing behaviour and to measure ad performance.
Cookie types used:
